The Sitra Thermal Diffuser pack contains three diffusers in three different materials: Vitria in glass, Lapis in ceramic, and a black anodised metal one. A diffuser sits in the bowl under your tobacco. It uses less shisha and gives you denser smoke.
The reason to buy the three pack rather than one is that the material changes the result. Each one holds and releases heat differently, so the same bowl packed the same way behaves differently under each. Kaloud sells them together because the useful thing is comparing them, not owning one.
The three materials

How a diffuser works
It raises the tobacco off the floor of the bowl and spreads heat across the base instead of concentrating it in the middle. Two things follow. You need less shisha to fill the bowl properly, and the tobacco that is there heats evenly rather than scorching in the centre while the edges stay cold.
Less tobacco per bowl is the part people notice on the receipt. Denser smoke is the part they notice on the first pull.
Which one to start with
Start with the Lapis ceramic. It is the most forgiving and it will tell you whether you like diffusers at all. Move to the metal if you run long sessions and want the bowl to hold steady. Use the Vitria glass if you like adjusting coals and want the bowl to respond quickly when you do.
Care
Let them cool completely before handling. Wash in warm water. The glass one is the fragile member of the set, so do not put it down in a steel sink and do not shock it with cold water while it is hot.
